PERSONAL Miss V. P. Nation, who has been spending a holiday in Hawke's Bay, returned home on Friday. Mr. A. M. Laing and family returned to Raetihi on Saturday alter spending a holiday on the shores of Manakau Harbour. Miss Joan Windle and Masters Darner, Burling, Ray Webb, Clifford, Geraghty and Derek Heine, returned to Wanganui to resume studies at the Wanganui Technical College following the vacation. Masters David Lynch, Keith Anderson, Rob Rose, and Harry Brown have returned to the Feilding Agricultural College. FOOTBALL SATURDAY'S RESULTS Seniors. Ohakune 0, United 0; Rangataua 10, Junction 6; Raetihi 19, Horopito 0. Juniors. Ohakune 26, Rangataur, 0; Junction Raetihi. Thirds.—Ohakune 8, Raetihi 3. Raetihi v. Horopito The above game was played at the Raetihi showgrounds on Saturday. The weather was good and there was a fair attendance of spectators. Raetihi's tries were all scored by the forwards. Rickards scored two, Henry two and Meyers one. Stevens and Solomon both converted one each. Horopito have quite a good pair of five-eighths, Slight especially snowing up with a beautiful cut in. Stephens, Carter, Priest, P. Bryers, B. Solomon, Chase, Dobson, Henry, Rickards, Dobson, Lynch, Anderson, Mitchinson, Meyers, Underhill. Horopito kicked off, playing to Raetihi's 25. A penalty to Raetihi cleared the position to half way but a penalty to Horopito brought the game back to Raetihi’s territory. Play was open and Raetihi with a cross kick to Horopito's 25 looked dangerous, a knock-on spoiling a good movement. Again Raetihi came and Meyers went over to score. Stephens failed to add the extra points. Raetihi 3, Horopito 0. Raetihi came again and with good forward work went to Horopito's line; a penalty coming in handy for the defenders who cleared to halfway. Horopito with a forward rush went to Raetihi's line. A penalty to Raetihi eased the position and they went down with a great forward movement to Horopito's 25. Horopico soon cleared, bringing play back to half way.

A great rush by Horopito was stopped by Stephens and Raetihi retaliated, the forwards going down to Horopito's 25. Raetihi could not be denied and from a nice passing movement by the forwards, Packards went over, Stephens adding the extra points.--Raetihi 8, Horopito 0. Play centred in midfield until half-time whistle went. From the interval Raetihi gradually worked down to Horopito's 25. a penalty stopping a good rush by Meyers.

Lynch broke through and Henry finished off a good movement by scoring wide out. Stephens failed to convert. Raetihi 11, Horopito 0. Raetihi again attacked but from a scrum Slight cut through and was almost over, the ball going dead. Raetihi retaliated and Meyers broke through for Rickards to score. Mitchinson’s kick went outside.—Raetihi 14, Horopito 0. Raetihi came again and were almost over. Raetihi continued its attack and from a good cross kick by Chase, Mitchinson and Henry went through for Henry to score and 13. Solomon added the extra points.- -Raetihi 19, Horopito 0. Horopito were attacking just as the final whistle went leaving Raetihi the winners by 19 points to 0. Mr. Murphy refereed. Ohakune v. Raetihi Third Grade E. Marshall one penalty and one try; Ward one try, Mclntyre converting. The game ended in Ohakune's favour by 8 points to Raetihi’s 3. Mr. K. C. Guthrie refereed. WAIMARINO GOLI CLUB During the week-end a Stableford competition was run amongst the men members, and J. Mcßride with a grand total of 43 was the winner. His was a wonderful performance off a handicap of 20 and his gross score of 79 was made up as follows: 5,4, 4,2 5,6, 3,5, 6 —40 out, and 4,5, 3,6, 3, 4,6, 4, 4—39 home, a total of 79. Resulting from scores handed in over the week-end the following handicap reductions have been made: McBride 17—12, F. Baddeley 20—15, P. Baddeley 24—18, A. G. Urwin 19--11. Qualifying and First Stroke.—The draw for this will be published later i in the week and will also be posted in the clubhouse. Members are again reminded that the first round of the Anderson Cup has to be played by the week ending June 5. Valedictory.—after play on Sunday an opportunity was taken to say farewell to an old member in Mr. D. Kennedy, who has been transferred io Masterton district. Messrs. Blyth, Davies and Marshall spoke briefly as to the good qualities possessed by Mr. Kennedy as a golfer and a citizen, expressing regret at his departure and at the same time wishing himself and Mrs. Kennedy the best of luck in their new sphere. It was mentioned that on the day of his last visit to the club that he had spent it in measuring up Ihe course—just an illustration of what a useful member he had been. Mr. Kennedy suitably replied with a few well chosen words, expressing his regret at leaving the club and wishing it the best of luck in the future.
