MEETING AT OHINGAITI

The monthly meeting of the Ohingaiti branch of the Women’s Institute was held in the local hall on Tuesday, Maj' 10. Mrs J. B. McKnight presided over a fair attendance of members. The meeting opened with the “Ode to Friendship” and the “Creed." Arrangements for the annual ball were finalised and it was decided that the ball be held on June 6, King’s Birthday. The roll call, “Don’ts in the Kitchen,” provided many useful hints. r The “Gol’den Thread” was read by Mrs Sextus. The competition for the best bowl of chrysanthemums was won by Mrs Weston, Mrs Bartlett being second. The competition for iced biscuits provided a number of entries, the first prize being won by Mrs J. Hammond with Mrs Pritchard second. Afternoon tea was served by Mesdames Double, Hammond, and Miss E. Hammond. A very pleasant afternoon closed with the National Anthem.
