GOLF During the week-end a most enjoyable mixed foursome was played for the Lawson Buttons. Miss N. Watson and J. O’Callaghan were the winners, with Miss I. Berry and D. Barrel! runners-up. Next Sunday the Mangaweka Club will play at Hawkestone for the Rofe Mug. Following are th? players: Messrs J. O’Callaghan, D. Barrell, L. Bailey, H. Bailey, H. Waymouth, D. Campbell, K. Fraser, D. Gorringe, H. Jacob, M. Martyn, S. McLeod, J. Dalrymple, A. Tippett, N. Glenny, Mesdames L. Bailey, I. Berry, G. Reid, J. O’Callaghan, D. Barrell. T. Pairman, W. Watson and Mrs Reid. PERSONAL Miss McFarlane is spending the school holidays in Sandon. Miss Howard, accompanied by her mother, left for Christchurch on Saturday. Mr and Mrs T. Dickson, Palmerston
North, arc spending a few days with Mrs H. T. Loyc, Manui. Mr and Mrs D. F. Gorringe, Kawhatau, are visiting Masterton for the week-end. Mrs W. P. Shaw and Mrs W. Wright, Rauhine, are spending a holiday in Auckland. The new vicar (Anglican), the Rev. C. F. Webster, will arrive from England to take up his duties next weex at Mangaweka. The Bishop of Wellington will visit Mangaweka for the purpose of instituting the Rev. Webster, the service being held on Wednesday, May 18, at 7.30 p.m. Also it is hoped that "The Percy Robinson Memorial Pulpit” wil! be completed ' and erected in St. Stephen's Church, Kawhatau, in time for the bishops visit, so that he will be able to dedicate it then.
