WOMEN’S DIVISION

MEETING AT MANGAWEKA. The annual meeting of the Manga« wcka branch of the Women's Division of the Farmer's Union was held on Friday, in the Guide Hall, Mrs. A. G. Pearce presiding. The report and bal-ance-sheet were read and confirmed, the balance-sheet showing a credit balance. The election of officers resulted: President, Mrs. T. W. Pairman; vice-presidents, Mesdames A. G. Pearce and J. Bonnor: secretary, Mrs. F. Rowley; advisory members, Mesdames G. Green, L. Bailey. Mrs. Pearce and Mrs. G. Clark were accorded a hearty vote of thanks for their work of'the past year. Mesdames Pairman and L. Ballej were appointed as delegates to the Wellington provincial meeting to ba held at Marton next week. Mrs. Duncan Simpson gave a very interesting address on the working or the W.D.F.U. and the progress that had been made since it was first formed. The afternoon concluded with a dainty afternoon tea.
