MARRIAGES INCREASE
VITAL STATISTICS WANGANUI RETURNS -OR APRIL The vital statistics for Wanganui for April show an increase of fourteen births, an increase of five deaths and an increase of 11 marriages when compared with the figures for the corresponding month of last year. The figures for the two periods are as follow: 1938 1937 Births 47 33 Deaths 21 16 Marriages ... 33 22 Marriages in office 7 8 The greater proportion of the marriages were performed during the Easter week-end. Last year Easter fell in and consequently the number of marriages solemnised last month showed a big increase over the corresponding month of last year.
