OBITUARY

MR. EDUARD C, JACK. [ Per Pres* Association.] WELLINGTON, May 2. The death has occurred of Mr. Edward Collins Jack, aged 69, a wellknown company secretary and commercial agent of Wellington. Since 1906, deceased had been engaged in secretarial work, commencing as Dominion secretary of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, which position he held until 1921. From 1915 to 1922 he was secretary of the New Zealand Council of Agriculture. He was also on the executive of the Wellington Town-Planning Association and for over 12 years was editor-manager of the Farmers’ Union Advocate. At the time of his death. Mr. Jackheld several secretarial positions, including those of the Dominion Farmers’ Institute and New Zealand Forestry League, which positions he had held since 1916 and 1915 respectively. Mr. Jack spoke both Maori and Esperanto fluently and was very interested in the work of the Esperanto Club.
