FARMERS’ INTERESTS
UNIONISM ADVOCATED I Per Press Association. 1 WELLINGTON, May 2. Many farmer Anzacs travelled on the Maunganui, which returned to Wellington from Sydney this morning to represent the Slew Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association in the Anzac parade in Sydney, and both on the way over to Australia and on the return journey to New Zealand discussed a number o£ matters concerning tl>e farmer and the New Zealand Farmers’ Union. A meeting of farmer returned soldiers was held on board the Maiingar.ui last right, over which Mr. A. H Kackmore, a memofi of the Auckland executive of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, presided, when a motion was passed to the effect "that this representative meeting of returned soldier farmers advocate in our own districts compulsory unionism for farmers.” There was only one dissentient vote against the motion.
