LAST WELLINGTON WOOL SALE BIG FALL ON GROSS RETURNS {Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, May 2. The Wellington wool sales on April 22 gave gross returns to growers of £227,965, compared with £765,303 for the corresponding sales of last year. Bales offered (last year in parentheses) were: 18,265 (29,734); sold, 16,156 (29,637); passed in, 2109 (147); average price per bale, £l4 2s 2d, against £25 16s sd; average a pound, 9.56 d, against 17.584 d.
