ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY
ANN LAL MEETING HELD. There was a small attendance of members at the annual meeting of the Wanganui Acclimatisation Society last night. A number of apologies for absence were received. Mr. H. J. Duigan presided.
In moving the adoption of the annual report and balance-sheet, Mr. Duigan said that the Wanganui society was only a small society but had always kept its finances in a sound position. However, it was not a sound policy to have ample finance and no game and the policy of the society had been to provide the sportsmen with an ample supply of game and fish at the same time maintaining its finances in a sound position. The year had been finished with a credit balance of £36 3s 3d, while the accumulated fund now stood at £567 12s Bd. Against this, however, was an amount of £lOO for the Taranaki hatchery which was an asset to the society. The following officers were elected: —Patron, Mr. James Allison; president, Mr. W. A. Izard; vice-presidents, Messrs. H. R. Beauchamp, R. S. Withers and E. P. Sealy; committee, Messrs H. J. Duigan, A. Bell, A. B. Dixon, L. Sheppard, H. Manguson, J. H. von Haast, 11. Rose. A. A. Healey, J. Dunlop, H. Coe, H. R. Quarterman, A. R. Sinclair. L. Dowling, D. W. Earle; solicitor, Mr. R. S. Withers.
