CHALIAPIN’S FUNERAL
MANY SINGERS TAKE PART IN SERVICES. PARIS, April 18. Singers participated in the funeral of Chaliapin, the Russian singer. Requiem Mass was sung in the Russian Church, after which a procession including many singers, was formed The coffin was borne into the open court beside the Opera House, in which Chaliapin had often sung. Russians of the Opera Choir sang during the short ceremony, after which the procession proceeded to the cemetery at Batignolles, where the burial tok place. All of the family were present, including a son from America.
