EASTER MARRED FURTHER VIOLENCE. Received April 12, 5.5 p.m. LONDON, April 15. The Jerusalem correspondent of The Times says that the great festal season is subdued owing to the state of the country and the exclusion of the public from the Holy Sepulchre, which was closed owing to the building being declared unsafe. Seventy shots were fired ■at the house of the Mayor of Tuqan. The exclusion of the public, except for small parties, from Calvary marred Good Friday for Christians, but the clergy held ceremonies. Jews visited the Wailing Wall and partook of the Passover. Gangs murdered four Arabs in various places. Fourteen cases of sniping are reported. The oil pipe-line was punctured and the fuel ignited. CAR AMBUSHED » THREE JEWS KILLED TROOPS COMMENCE ROUND-UP. Received April 17, 6.5 p.m. HAIFA, Aprl 16. Three Jews were killed when a private car was ambushed and fired on on the high road to Acre. British troops and aircraft have opened operations extending over the Easter to round up gangsters south of Jenin. Their first contact resulted in 20 Arabs, including the leader, being I killed, and several wounded.
