GERMANS WANT REVISION •‘PRINCIPLE UNSATISFACTORY” [By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright J LONDON, April 15. The Copenhagen correspondent of The Times states that after the revolver incident, in the Diet, Pastor Schmidt, representing the German minority in Parliament, declared that the Danes were narrow-minded in claiming that the present frontier between Germany and Denmark, established under the Treaty of Versailles, could remain permanent. On the contrary, Germans in Denmark ought to discuss revision.
He added that Denmark need not be nervous in view of Austria's fate, as (Germany did not intend to use force. ' Pastor Schmidt admitted that Germans enjoyed better cultural conditions in Denmark than elsewhere, but said that the position was completely unsatisfactory in principle. Dr. Munch, the Foreign Minister, immediately replied that the frontier would not be open to revision, and added that all the northern countries took the same view. He also referred to the forthcoming negotiations for military co-ordination between the northern countries.
Nazis in South Jutland are meeting to-day to examine an extensive programme, including a demand for reconnection of South Jutland with the German market.
A cablegram received from Copenhagen on Thursday stated: —A young man who was sitting in the visitors’ gallery in the Diet with a number gf others of his own age fired two shots, it is believed in order to draw attention to Nazi leaflets which a demonstrator (Erik Westergaard) showered down on the members. The leaflets accused Parliament of corruption and misgovernment. Westergaard and others were arrested. The Diet was debating a new immigration proposal to which the Danish Nazis are opposed, ALLOWED TO RETURN I ARCHDUKE FERDINAND. BERLIN, April 15. Archduke Joseph Ferdinand has been released from Dachau and has been returned to his estate after making a large voluntary contribution to the Nazi funds.
