HEAVY FIGHTING
IN ABYSSINIA ITALIAN DIFFICULTIES. Received April 17, 6.5 p.m. LONDON, April 16. The Manchester Guardian’s diplomatic correspondent says that there has been heavy fighting in Abyssinia since February. Large Italian contingents have moved to Gojjam from Massawa and from Ashmara 20 battalions and the greater part of the air force are operating The Italian losses have been heavy. The wounded are crowding Addis Ababa and other towns, many being sent home. Financial difficulties In administration are increasing and many traders are selling cut.
