WON BY WANGANUI EAST

The Wanganui East Club challenged Gonville Club, the holders ol the Wedderspoon Cup, the game being played on Thursday, when adverse weather conditions marred play a little. The visitors were warmly welcomed by the president, Mrs F. H. Uttley, and the club captain, Mrs F. Wood. At the conclusion of the game, which was won by Wanganui East, Mrs Harris, captain of the Wanganui East Croquet Club, thanked the members of the Gonville Club for the pleasant afternoon and the hospitality extended. Detailed results of the game were as follows, Wanganui East being mentioned first: Mrs Harris 26, Mrs Lynch 15; Mrs Chapman 26, Mrs Burrell 14; Mrs Currin 19, Mrs Carline 26; Mrs Walpole 26, Mrs Murphy 19. In the C handicap single, the winner was Mrs Orchard, 26. Mrs Perry was runner-up, 16.
