Various items of business were dealt with and the meeting concluded with votes of thanks to the president, the secretary, the auditor and to the Ladles’ Club for the use of their room. Annual Report The annual report read as follows: — On behalf of the Huniterville branch we submit again our annual report, this time our twenty-third. We are pleased to record another successful year. Early in May Mr. and Mrs. E. Hall suggested that a Plunket dance be held in their newly-built woolshed. This dance was organised and carried through entirely by the ladies of Rata-iti and Otairi, and both socially and financially it was an outstanding success. We have placed on record our indebtedness to Mr. and Mrs. Hall and the dance committee for this, that they relieved us of our burden for the rest of the year in the ever-pressing matter of raising funds.
Our membership has increased a little and financially our position is satisfactory, but our greatest pleasure lies in the progress o v *he work itself. Nurse Mooife reports that mothers have been keen and interested, and their visits to the rooms with their babies number the highest for several years past. We are glad to see so much use made of our free Plunket room and service and would urge mothers to take this good opportunity of knowing how their babies are progressing from week to week, and so help to give them their chance for a lifetime of good health. At in past years, we have received support and help in many ways. We would like to thank Drs. L. M. and Jessie Burnett and Sister Hourigan for their practical help asd interest in us and the four generous donors, Mrs. G. R. Grace, Mrs. J. Bull, Mrs. T. A. Duncan and Mr. Wm. Moon, of Hunterville. We are particularly indebted to him.
Also this year we were presented by the Taihape branch with the free gift of a superfine set of scales, able to weigh children as well as babies. Again we record our confidence in Nurse Moore and our appreciation of her efficient and faithful work, and heartily thank everyone who has in any way helped to further our work in this district. Officers for the Year Officers for the year were elected as follow:—Patroness, Mrs. T. A. Duncan; president, Mrs. J. Bull; vicepresidents, Mesdames F. Butement, P.
