BOXING

BOUT AT AUCKLAND TOMMY LOVERIDGE BEATEN ON T.K.O. I Ter Press Association.] AUCKLAND, April 11. The Auckland Boxing Association staged a carnival at the Town Hall to-night. In the first professional match, between Vic Caltaux (Auckland) and Clarrie Marshall (Gisborne) the decision was given on points in favour of Caltaux. It met with a storm of disapproval. There appeared to be justification for the outbursi as, apart from winning the fifth round and breaking even in the last, Caltaux was outboxed and outpointed. The second match was a lightweight on. between Percy Kelly (Auckland) and Tommy Loveridge (Taranaki), Kelly winning by a technical knockout in the final round.
