OBITUARY

MRS TAN GINO A TATA Mrs Tanginoa Tapa, a highly respected resident of Parikino, passed away recently. Possessing a kindly disposition Mrs Tapa was known all along the river for her hospitality, and was regarded as the “mother” of the Parikino Pa. At all times interested in the welfare of her race, the late Mrs Tapa understood the problems of old and young alike, and her counsel and wisdom were often sought and readily given. In accordance with native custom a tangi was held af Parikino and was attended by a large number of Wanganui Maoris. A husband and grown-up family are left.
