BEAUTIFYING THE RIVERBANK

A CORRESPONDENT advances a practical suggestion J'oibeautifying the riverbank. The scheme merits being given support, and also being co-ordinated with the previously-con-sidered scheme. It will be remembered that some years ago the residents of Wanganui sent to Ihe City Council bulbs with the object of their being planted on the riverbank. Nothing appeal's to have been done in this respect. A spring show of bulbs and a summer show of hydrangeas on the Somme Parade would do much to improve the city. Help is wanted. Action is called for.
