WEDDING

LATHAM—TAILOR .Many visitors and relatives attended the wedding on Monday afternoon, December 27, of Miss Muriel Taylor, daughter of Mrs Ure, of Taurakawa, Stratford, and the late Mr W. Taylor, of Wanganui, and Mr Frank Latham, of Toko, Taranaki. The wedding was celebrated in the Ingestre Street Baptist Church, the Rev. E Nicholls officiating. The bride chose a gown of magnolia duchesse satin fashioned on close-fitting lines. Iler tulle veil was held in place with a halo, and she I carried a lovely bouquet of white carnations and pink sweet peas. Attending the bride was Miss Lorraine Latham, sister of the bridegroom, and wee Joyce Ure, sister of the bride, both being daintily attired in frocks of blush pink georgette, and carrying choice bouquets of pink roses and sweet peas. Mr Jack Ewens was in attendance as groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held at, the Maudiette, where about 93 guests were entertained. The bride’s mother was attired in, a model frock of navy sheer georgette applique in soutache braid. Her hat and accessories matched and she carried a posy of toning flowers. Mrs Latham, mother of the bridegroom, wore a brown floral frock with matching brown finger-length coat. Her fawn hat was trimmed with brown and she carried an autumn shaded posy. Mrs Wiggins, grandmother of Hie bride, was wearing a navy and red floral frock, a smart navy coat and hat, and her bouquet was of scarlet toned flowers. Later, when the bride and bridegroom left by car for a tour of the North Island,, the bride travelled in a smart navy pin-stripe tailored costume, a navy hat and shoes, and a Southern American skunk fur (the gift of the bridegroom).
