MAN UNIDENTIFIED
NO DEFINITE EVIDENCE CORONER ADJOURNS INQUEST I’UKEKOHE, Dec. 23. Doubt, still exists as to the identity of the young man whose body was found yesterday floating in a creek between two properties neat Buckland. Evidence given at the inquest held to-day did not establish it, and lhe hearing was adjourned by the coroner, Mr. C. K. Lawrie, J.P., until to-morrow to enable further evidence to be brought. A Public Works Department storeman, Roland Guy, of Auckland, stat* ed that he was unable to say definitely that the man was Mr. H. Carter who was employed on the Swanson end of the Waitakerc scenic drive job in October. He thought there was some slight resemblance. Carter had handled contract vouchers and chargeable dockets similar to the two found in the pockets of the man's clothing. Witness added that he had nor heard of Mr. Carter since he left the job.
