AUSTRALIANS WIN FINAL LEAGUE TEST Y ISITORS BEST IN LOOSE Received Dec. 19, 7.5 p.m. LONDON, Dec. 18. In the final League Test Australia won by 13 to 3. The weather was dull. England opened with a desperate attack and kept Australia on the defensive, but frequent penalties affordec the defenders relief. The Australian backs worked well • and made several splendid efforts but could not finish off the movements. Then Norval, with a quick follow-up, secured possession, carried a tackler over and scored. Beaton converted. A good passing movement enabled Reardon to score an unconverted try in a corner. England took a turn on attack and Hudson scored in a corner but the try was not converted. A penalty goal by Beaton saw the halftime score 10 to 3 in favour of Australia. England rallied desperately in the second spell. The game at times was ragged. England outplayed Australia !in the scrummages, but the visitors excelled in the loose. Norval scored in the corner, the try being not converted, and the game ended in n victory for Australia.
