Might Not made the early running but Valbeau took charge passing the half-mile, followed by Might Not, Jocular and Lord Bine. Vaibeau was still leading with a furlong to go, but Ramdin finished best and beat him by one and a-quarter lengths. Sal Volatile was a length away, third. Silver Standard, having his first race since November was always in the bunch, but finished last. The time, 1.351, is equal to the Australasian record.
