I MEETING AT RAETIHI i An enthusiastic meeting of supporters of the National Party gathered in lhe Druid’s Hall on Thursday, December 9, to organise a local committee in Raetihi. Mr. C. D. Scarrow assisted by Mr. D. McLean, was in the chair. The meeting included many visiting supporters from Katieke, Taumarunui, Ohakune, and Taihape. After speeches by visitors referring mostly to the National Party Executive and organisation, it was decided to organise a local branch with the following committee: Messrs. C. D. Scarrow (chairman), A. Scarrow, W. Scarrow, D. Scarrow, D. McLean, T. E. McLean, R. McLean, D. Wright, H. Wright, C. J. V. Houghton, D. J. McGregor, Fredericks, Barrow, Honery, W. Stevens, H. J. Mansen, C. Guthrie, A. Malpas, L. Sommerville. Ladies’ committee, Mesdames K. Lynch, Cra-croft-Wilson, McGregor, F. J. Smith, Paulger, Misses Scarrow, CracrollWilson, Manson. BRANCH FORMED AT OHAKUNE A meeting was held at the Plunket Rooms, Ohakune, on Tuesday evening last for the purpose of establishing a branch of .the National Party at Ohakune. Upwards of 30 people attended and Mr. Alwyn Carter was voted to the chair. A branch was duly formed and an executive comprising Messrs. A. Carter, A. Larsen and D. Black was selected. Following this meeting the repre-

sentatives who were present from Taumarunui, Taihape, Raetihi and Ohakune met and unanimously resolved that the headquarters of the National Party for the Waimarino electorate beat at Taumarunu'.
