MAJESTIC THEATRE
“IHF GAVE HIM A GI N.” They gave him a gun when he went to the war. He was not physically strong, but with a gun in his hand he killed better men than himself. It gave him a sense of power, and when peace came and he went home he kept on killing men, this time not for gloiy, but for lhe money and power it brought to him. This is the theme of
"They Gave Him a Gun,” featuring Spencer Tracy and Franchot Tone, which is now showing at the Majestic Theatre. The film is a remarkable study of the character of two men, one an attractive young man whose I weakness of spirit leads him to take what he considers the easiest way to riches, the other r bluff, solid type, on whom the war has little effect, and who makes his way through life following a simple code—to do and honest thing at all times.
