SEAFIELD CLUB THE ANNUAL REPORT FINANCES IN SOUND STATE The report of the Seafield Golf Club for 1937 to be presented to the annual meeting to-night shows the club to be in a healthy state. In spite of a drop in membership at the commencement of the season the finances have been satisfactorily maintained. "Inter-club Matches.—During the year a number of enjoyable., games were played with members of other clubs, namely. Castlecliff, Belmont, Tawhero, Waverley, Rangitikei, Marton and Patea,” the report states. “Tournament—This year the cluo reverted to its former practice of holding is annual tournament at Labour Day. Favoured by good weather, this function was very successful. A one-day tournament was also held, and created considerable interest. “The committee wish to congratulate the two Sealield players who competed in the New Zealand tournament—A. R. Kitto and R. F. Kitto. R. F. Kitto won his way to fifth place in the qualifying rounds and A. R. Kitto to the final in the amateur championship. Congratulations are also due to A. R. Kitto on again setting a new course record during the season. “Club Contests.—The winners ot the club championships for the season are as follow:—Senior, M. Casey; middleweight, E. Manley; junior, b’. Goldsbury. Other competition winners were: Foster Cup, L. H. Parkes; Runnerstrum Cup, G. O’Halloran; White Horse Cup, R. B. Carr; eclectic A R Kitto. ' “Caretaker.—Mr. J. P. Taw having resigned, the committee appointed Mr. H. W. Mosen caretaker. Mr. Mo'seri has done excellent work on the links. “Ladies’ Club.—On several occasions during the season mixed foursomes were played with the members of the Ladies’ Club. Our thanks are due to the ladies for financial assistance in the renovation of the clubhouse and generally for their co-operation throughout the season. “Thanks.—The thanks of the club are particularly due to Mr. A. G. Mackay for the care and attention he has given to his duties as greens' superintendent, also to the following who donated rophies through the season: Messrs. R. E. Cuthbertson C G Young, A. Lamont, W. G. Haggle G O’Halloran, A. D. Kitto, N. S. Delves E. Manley, J. R. Wilkinson.”
