STRONG NOR’-WESTER

AWATEA’S BERTHING DELAYED) [Per Press Association. ] AUCKLAND, Nov. 19. A stiff north-westerly breeze caused difficulty for the Awatea in berthing on the eastern side of the Queen’s Wharf early this morning. She drew into the head of the wharf at 1 o’clock, but at 1.30 was still unable to make her berth properly. As a sign of holding the Tasman record the Awatea carries the emblem of a greyhound on her foretruck and a blue pennant streams from the masthead.
