WEDDING

GRAY—ELLERY. On the evening of October 21, a pretty wedding was solemnise 1 in St Stephen's Church, Marton, when the Rev. Raine joined in holy matrimony, Mollie Lilian, second daughter ol Mr and Mrs. John Ellery, and Alexander Gordon second son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Gray. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a becoming gown of white satin, fashioned, with cowl neckline, large bell sleeves and a circular train. Her veil was mounted on a pleated tube halo with orange blossoms, and fell gracefully to form a second train. Her two attendants, Miss Niare Ellery, sister of the bride, and Miss Joy Ellery, cousin of the bride, were dressed alike in trained silver ’ lame frocks, with red, shoulder spray, red shoes and silver juliet caps," trimmed with red flowers. Miss Phyllis Ellery was flower girl, and wore a dainty ankle-length frock ot red georgette with silver juhet cap and silver shoes. Each maid carried a beautiful shower bouquet, given by the bride's brother. Mr. Glasslord Gray, of Wanganui, ably carried out the duties of best man, and Mr. Keith Ellery was groomsman. Afterwards the guests assembled at Gould’s tearooms, where Mrs. Ellery received the guests attired in a floral frock, and navy crepe de chine coat, large navy straw hat and carried a posy of spring flowers. Mrs. Sutherland, sister of the bridegroom, assisted, wearing an anklelength lemon and mauve ensemble. A beautiful three-tiered wedding cake adorned the table; it was made and presented by Mrs. I-I. M. Dudding. Latei in the evening the guests were invited to the home oi the brides parents, where a happy time was spent in community singing and dancing. When the happy couple left amid showers of confetti and with the good wishes of friends, the bride wore a navy blue pin-stripe costume, navy blue hat and accessories, Their future home will be in Wanganui.
