OF BRITISH MASTERS. OFFICIAL OPENING. There was a large gathering ot interested people at the Sarjeant Gallery on Saturday afternoon for the official opening of the exhibition of the Loan Collection of pictures from National and Tate Galleries, London. The Hon. D. G. Sullivan, Minister of Industries and Commerce, formally declared the exhibition, and speeches of welcome were given by Mr. J. B. Cotterill, M.P., the Mayor, (Mr. W. J. Rogers) and Mr. J. Siddells. Members of the Wanganui City Council and members of Sarjeant Gallery Advisory Committee were also present. Following the opening ceremony the visitors wandered through the various rooms to view the paintings.
