CASTLECLIFF CLUB CLOSING DAY MIXED FOURSOMES The Castlecliff Golf Club brought their 1937 winter season to an end on Saturday with a mixed foursomes and medal round for men without partners. The members were entertained at afternoon tea and at the conclusion the president, Mr R. R. Dawson, made an appropriate speech and called on Mrs Wagstaff, president of the ladies’ club, to present the prizes won during the season. Smith 88—14—71 S. Cass 113—30—77 WANGANUI CLUB CLOSE OF SEASON PRESENTATION OF PRIZES The Wanganui Golt . Club closed their 1937 season at the Belmont links on Saturday with a Canadian mixed foursome match. Mrs A. C. Hatlick and C. N. Armstrong were well ahead of the field, returning an excellent card 7 up on bogey. Until the last pair came in the next best was all square, but Mr and Mrs J. E. Marshall, the last to finish, returned another good card, being 3 up. There was an exceptionally large number of players and the last four did not leave the first tee until 3 o'clock. The results were:— Mrs A. C. Hatrick and C. N. Armstrong, 7 up. Mr and Mrs J. E. Marshall. 3 up. Mrs Richardson and W. C. Baird, all square. Mr and Mrs Sievers, 1 down. Mr and Mrs H. V. Hobbins, 1 down. Miss Wilson and A. Wilson, 1 down. Mr and Mrs P. H. Hartland, 1 down. A long-driving competition was also held, at the conclusion of which the captain, Mr J. B. Jack, in a short speech, reviewed the season's play and congratulated the winners of the various competitions.
