A WEATHER STATION
TRISTAN DA CUNHA EXPEDITION TO VISIT ENGLAND Received Nov. 5, 5.5 p.m. LONDON, Nov. 4. Following permission from t x hc Colonial Secretary, Mr W. OrmsbyGore, for the establishment of a wireless transmitting station on the world’s loneliest island, Tristan Da Cunha, in the South Atlantic, Dr. Erling Christophcrsen is proceeding to Capetown as the head of an expedition which will leave Capetown for the island about November 22 with a radio unit, a complete meteorological station, two zoologists, and two botanists. The meteorological unit hopes to provide South Africa with weather forecasts.
