NEW AWARD DESIRED NO AGREEMENT IN COUNCIL [ Per Press Association. ] WELLINGTON, Oct. 28. No agreement was reached in the Conciliation Council to-day before the Commissioner, Mr. S. Ritchie, on the application of the wool, grain, hide and manure stores employees for a new Dominion award in which the applicants asked for a 40-hour week cf five eight-hour days and sought 2s 9d an hour for casual workers, £5 7s 6d weekly for permanent hands, 10s week addition lor leading hands, £6 10s weekly for head storemen and wool-classers, and classified wages for youths The employers sought a renewal of the existing award, fhe proceedings v ere adjourned until to-morrow.
