MINIATURE RIFLE CLUB. The last club match of the season was begun last Tuesay, when the first round of the chmapionship was fired in conjunction with a trophy shoot. Results in the first championship round were:—J. Kelly 97, H. Goile 97, S. Holmes 95, R. Travers 94, C. Baldwin 93, Miss Cameron 92, J. Govenlock 91, Mrs. Langesen 89, C. Honeyman 85, J. Bourke 85, P. Woon 84, F. Langesen 77. Three reached the standard in the trophy shoot, the Hannan Cup points going finally to Miss Cameron 3, J. Kelly 2, H. Goile 1. This competition has now reached a very interesting stage, C. Baldwin being in the lead, J. Kelly one point behind with J. Govenlock lying handy. One more match has to be fired. Scores in the first round of the trophy shoot were:—Miss Cameron, 92—6—98; J. Kelly, 97—1—98; H. Goile, 97—1—98; S. Holmes, 95—2 97; R. Travers, 94—3—97; Mrs. Langesen, 89—8—97; C. Honeyman, 85— 12—97; C. Baldwin, 93—1—94; J.

Govenlock, 91—2—93; P. Woon, 84—9 —93; J. Bourke, 85—6—91; F. Langesen, 77—12—89. Two teams tied for the Holmes Buttons, the shoot-off giving a win to J. Kelly 99, Miss Cameron 98, C. Honeyman 97, total 294. Other scores were: H. Goile 100, Mrs. Langesen 97, Travers 97, total 294; S. Holmes 97, J. Govenlock 94, F. Langesen 89, total 280. GOLF NOTES. Ladies closing day (last Tuesday) saw quite a good attendance. Results of the main match are not yet to hand but the approach and putt competition was won by Miss Mackintosh, with Mrs. Connors, Mrs. Marchant and Mrs. Holmes runners-up, while the putting competition was won by Miss D. Castles, with Mrs. McLean, Miss A. Castles, Mrs. Morrison, Miss Mackintosh and Mrs. Jones runnersup.
