JACK HORNER FIFTH NEWS OF CUP HORSES Received Oct. 27, 10.20 p.m. MELBOURNE, Oct. 27. Jack Horner was a poor fifth in today’s Kyneton Handicap, which was won by Bonus. Gay Circle was last. Granvin scored a comfortable wm in the Encourage Stakes. Mitsui and Bela are doubtful starters in the Cantala Stakes. The Cup acceptors Balkan Prince and Sir Regent, who were under a cloud last week, are now fit. Black Mac was sore following a kick at the start of the W.S. Cox Plate, but is now moving freely and is quite fit. JUVENILES FOR V.R.C. MEETING N.Z. JOCKEYS FOR CUP Received Oct. 27, 7.5 p.m. MELBOURNE, Oct. 27. Acceptors for the Maribyrnong Plate include Pandava, Normal, Young Eastern, Gay Romance, Nuffield, and Beau Frere. New Zealand jockeys riding in the Melbourne Cup are: T. Webster (Allunga), N. Creighton (Wotan), Ashley Reed (The Trump) and W. Jenkins (Willie Win).
