ALLEGED GOVERNMENT FUNDS STATEMENT IN SLANDER ACTION Received Oct. 27, 9.40 p.m. PARIS, Oct. 27. A dramatic episode which may have an important reaction or. French internal politics occurred in the Lyons Civil Court during the siander action against Colonel de la Rocque, leader of the Croix de Feu, by the Due Posso di Borgo, one of the colonel’s chief lieutenants in building up the Fascist Croix de Feu. Tha Due di Borgo alleged that Colonel de la Rocque accused him of false charges after the publication of an article in which tile Due declared that the colonel had received money from the Government secret funds. The former Premier, M. Tardieu, caused a sensation by stating in evlI dence that when he was Premier he regularly subsidised Colonel de Li Rocque from the secret service funds. Colonel de la Rocque received the funds on the ground that he requireo them to intensify the recruiting oi the Croix de Feu and start a national volunteer movement. Colonel de la Rocque, in evidence, said he received no money from M. Tardieu. Judgment was reserved.
