Mrs F. Webb-Jones and Mrs A. Spurdie, Gonville, motored to Wellington for the holiday week-end. Miss Marjorie Stone, St. Hill Street Extension, has been holidaying in \\ ayerley. Miss Helen Simmons has been the guest of Mrs S. Billinghurst, Maxwell, for the week-end. Miss C. Mollgaard and Miss J. Harper, of Hawke’s Bay, were weekend visitors to Mrs A. Fargie, 15 Falkland Street, Wanganui East. Mrs Haldane, Wanganui, is the guest of Miss J. Holme, New Plymouth, for the golf tournament. Mrs H. Knox and daughter were Wellington visitors to Wanganui for the Spencer—Wilson wedding. * * * » Mrs S. Smith, Aramoho, and Miss Mollie McDonald, Glasgow Street, who were visitors to Hawke’s Bay, have returned home. Mrs J. Conner has returned to Wanganui from a visit to Wellington and Auckland. Mrs F. Finlayson, who has been visiting Auckland, has returned to Wanganui. Mr and Mrs E. E. Evans, of Lower Hutt, spent the holiday week-end in Wanganui as the guest of Mrs W. L. Young. Mr and Mrs Emil Anderson were Taihape visitors to Wanganui for the Fookes—Brown wedding. Miss Rene Hay, Wellington, and formerly of Wanganui, is revisiting the city and is the guest of Mrs Michie, Gonville. Mr and Mrs G. E. Ironside and family, Smithfield Road, have returned after a short holiday spent at Pahiatua and Wairarapa. Mr and Mrs Roger Mark, Stratford, and Mrs P. Prestige, New Plymouth, spent Labour week-end with Mrs M. Mark, Wanganui East. Mrs Harry G. Hall, and Sister Neilsen, of Hamilton; are the guests of Mrs C. Neilson, Young Street, Wanganui East. Mrs L. Benjamin has returned to her home in Heads Road after spending a month’s holiday in Auckland. Mrs George Shanly and Mrs F.
Shanly, of Lower Hutt, are staying with friends in Wanganui. Mrs J. F. Drake, of Otago, Dominion president of the W.D.F.U., was the guest of Mrs A. H. McLean, Sel- [ wyn Street, during her short stay in Wanganui. Mrs Drake, accompanied by Mrs Duncan Simpson, will motor to-day to Mrs Simpson’s home at Marton and later goes on to Wellington. Miss M. B. Robertson, M.A., formerly of the staff of the Christchurch Training College, and who recently reorganised the school library on the Dewey system, has been at Wellington investigating library procedure. She was the guest of her niece, Mrs J. E. Tremaine, Day’s Bay. Miss Robertson came on to Wanganui last week-end for the Technical College reunion and is at present the guest of Mrs G. Hall, Upper Aramoho. ENGAGEMENTS The engagement is announced of Jean Ellen Page, of Wanganui, elder daughter of Pastor H. W. Page and Mrs. Page, of Feilding, to David Allen Dale, of Wellington, elder son of Mrs. E. E. Dale, of Napier, and formerly of Wanganui. The engagement is announced of Alma Phoebe, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Stent, of Ohingaiti, to George Noel, only son of the late Mr. W. G. Pearce and elder son of Mrs. M. E. Charlton, of Huntly.
