AGED PENSIONER’S DEATH
FOUND IN THERMAL FOOL. [ Per Press Association. ) ROTORUA, Oct. 13. An old-age pensioner, Mr. Robert Johnston, aged 70, was found early this morning lying dead in a thermal bathing pool in the Kuirau Reserve. A resident, Mr. F. E. K. McArthur, was taking an early morning walk through the reserve when he saw a pair of feet protruding from the water of the pool and on investigating discovered Johnston floating face upwards. A doctor and the police were immediately called, the doctor stating that death was probably due to heart failure. Mr. Johnston was rescued from the same pool in June, when he had almost expired and was on the point of drowning. So far as is known he had only one relative, a son residing in Auckland.
