AWAPUNI HORSES GALLOP PALMERSTON N., Oct. 13. The weather was fine though dull for track work at Awapuni yesterday. The course proper was available, the going being inclined to be greasy. Oratory and The Bigot did pace work on the plough. Both appear to have been improved by their outings at Hastings on Saturday. Laughing Lass and Great Hope were companions in a live-furlong flutter on the plough, the last halfmile taking 54sec. Gay Molly was sprinted six furlongs, breaking lmin. 20sec. Dawning Light was worked over six furlongs, but after running the first thre furlongs in 37Jsec, she was eased up. Quadroon was galloped over a mile with Chat, and they were together all the way. They broke 40sec. for the first three furlongs, and were not under pressure to complete the task in lmin. 49 4-ssec.

Orient Dawn registered a smart effort over half a mile, his time being 52 3-ssec. Dunmanway ran three furlongs in 38 3-ssec. Wagner left six furlongs behind in lmin. 20 3-ssec., moving well throughout. Sporting Luck ran half a mite in 54 l-ssec. She is by Colossus out of Shuffler.
