The kindness and courtesy that was extended lo me, made my short stay a memorable one. and 1 ask you to accept my greatest appreciation for the honour conferred upon me in asking me to be your guest. If I can do anything to further the interests of your sports meetings in future, I shall not fail to do so. In conclusion I should like to make special reference to your energetic secretary (Mr. B. H. Guthrie) who left no stone unturned to make my stay a very pleasant one. Wishing your club the best of success.” A letter was also received from Vernon Manning as under: “Just a short, note thanking you for the kind invitation to compete at your meeting.
