ROAD DEATHS

INCREASE IN BRITAIN Received Oct. 12, 7.5 p.m. LONDON, Oct. 12. Road deaths in Britain in September totalled 583, an increase of 16 compared with last September. The totals for 1937 are: Dead, 4821; injured, 170,397. Fatalities on the speed limit roads are more than three times greater than roads where there is no speed limit.

As a protest against the lack of safety traffic signals, mothers and children formed a living barrier across a roadway in North Kensington, forcing traffic to stop.
