GENERAL NEWS The Town Hall and supper room were filled on Wednesday evening when a dance and card party were held in aid of the Rest and Plunket Rooms Fund. Winners at cards were Mrs A. W. Blanchard and Mr J. E. Walker, and the consolation prizes were awarded to Mesdames H. F. Russell and T. W. Field. A competition, for which Mr Ross Meikle, manager of the Regent Theatre, Wanganui, kindly gave picture passes, was won by Miss Stevens and Mr P. A. Doughty. Bright music was supplied by the Midnight Revellers, and over £2O was netted for the fund. The committee are thankful to all who do- j nated prizes and supper requisites for the function. |
