GOLF TOLKNAMENI A fairly successful tournament was held on Wednesday, there being 25 entries. A bogey match was held in the morning and was won by Mr. G. Hughes, with a score of 3 down. Other cards were: G. Fraser, 4 down; T. Cardiff, 4 down; A. Gillon, 4 down; J. Petersen, 6 down; G. Corbett, 6 down; T. Bostock, 6 down; P. Bly de, 7 down; E. Bowen, 7 down; N. Gardiner, 7 down; B. Currie, 7 down. The afternoon Stableford was won by Mr. E. R. Tidbury, with 37 points. Other cards read: T. Cardiff 34, E. Bowen 34, A. Gillon 34, A. Grant Fargie 34, P. Blyde 33, M. Boswell 31, J. Petersen 30. For the trophy kindly donated by Mr. Vodanovich, the 36 hole medal resulted in a tie between A. Gillon and T. Cardiff, with 148 net, and Mr. Gillon won the toss. Cards read: A. Gillon, 76—72—148; T. Cardiff, 71--77 P. Blyde, 77—73—150; J. Petersen, 75—76—151; N. Gardiner, 78— 79—157; E. Bowen, 80—80—160; T. Bostock, 82—80—162; E. Oakley, 80—83—163; G. Corbett, 77—88—165; S. Edwards, 85—81—166; M. Boswell, 83—86—169. The junior medal was won by Mr. E. R. Tidbury with the very good score of 69 net, Mr. Grant Fargie being second with 75. In his usual happy manner, the president, Mr. Anderson, presented the trophies to the winners, and then called for three cheers for the ladies who had kindly supplied the afternoon tea. The first qualifying round for the Remuera Cup will be played to-mor-row afternoon, the draw being the same as that for last Saturday.
