AT EMPIRE EXPENSE ISSUE BURSTS INTO BRITISH POLITICS EMERGENCY MEETING [By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, June 8. The projected Anglo - American Trade Pact with reaction on the Dominions, burst into British politics this afternoon, when more than 100 of the 300 members of the House of Commons and the Empire Industries Association held an emergeucy meeting at the House of Commons, and more than bluntly hinted to the Government that any Anglo-American Trade Pact must not damage Britain’s (interests or Imperial preference- Mr. Page Croft presided. The meeting, which was private, unanimously passed a resolution “emphatically objecting to any action in any way interfering with the fuller development, or even the weakening of the present effectiveness of the domestic and Imperial tariff system or sacrificing home or Empire production for the sake of some illusory project for the revival of economic internaI tionalism.”
