ROYAL FAMILY ALLOWANCES

ITEMS IN CIVIL LIST £6OOO FOR PRINCESS ELIZABETH. NOTHING FOR DUKE OF WINDSOR. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) Received April 29, 10,30 p.m. LONDON, April 29. The Daily Mail political correspondent says that a special allowance of at least £6OOO a year for Princess Elizabeth, until she comes of age, and an increased allowance for the Duke of Gloucester (at present £25,000), and in recognition of the extra duties he has had to perform in the absence of a Prince of Wales, are among the recommendations of a Select Committee on the new Civil List, whose report is now completed.

The Queen and Queen Mary each receive allowances of £70,000. Other recommendations follow closely the provisions made for the Royal Family in King George V’s reign. The report contains no references to any allowance for the Duke of Windsor.
