VISITORS FROM INDIA (Per Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH, April 29. At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Hockey Association officers elected were: Patron, the GovernorGeneral; president, Mr H. S. J. Goodman; vice-presidents, presidents of district associations; treasurer, Mr P. N. Quartermain; secretary, Mr W. H. Down; auditor, Mr A. Stewart; management committee, Messrs R. Gracie, C. S. Bellamy, G. Strack, H. Thorp, C. C. Holland, A. F. Preston, H. E. Bell.
A decision to invite a team from the Indian Hockey Federation to visit New Zealand next year was made at a meeting of the management committee, the invitation being made on the same terms and conditions as those for the last Indian tour in 1935. If for any reason the Indian Federation is unable to send a team they will be asked for permission to negotiate with the Manavadar State team for a visit. The Prince of Manavadar was to have captained the team which v lifted New Zealand in 1935. but was unable to make the trip because of. illness. His secretary, Maiis.ud, is captain of the State team and was vice-captain of the 1935 team.
