POPE’S ENCYCLICAL
NAZI CONSTERNATION Received March 23, 11.5 p.m. BERLIN, March 23. Secret police raided the Bishop of Berlin’s palace and seized copies of the Pope's encyclical which, according to the Times’ Berlin correspondent, has caused consternation among German official circles.
It is reported from Rome that Herr Hitler has recalled Herr von Berger, German Ambassador to the Holy See, who is "on holiday in Madrid.”
