AVIATION COMPANIES
AUSTRALIAN AMALGAMATION EARLY DECISION EXPECTED SYDNEY, March 8. A report is current that Australia’s three leading aviation companies are nearing amalgamation. Australian National Airways has bought the holdings of the British Pacific Trust in the Airlines of Australia, the price being in the vicinity of £BO,OOO, while Airlines of Australia, it is believed, have negotiated with Qantas Empire Airways an alliance for the development of new aerial routes, which will involve Imperial Airways and the big shipping companies behind Australian National Airways.
