WANGANUI ASSOCIATION PREPARATIONS FOR SEASON ANNUAL MEETING HELD There was a good attendance ol delegates at the annual meeting of the Wanganui Football Association last evening. The president, Mr H. Lawrence, presided. The annual report, after reviewing the past season, stated that the association's financial position was stronger than ever before in its history. Mr J. J. Scott congratulated members of the management committee, the secretary and the treasurer on their good work during the year. He had heard many of the association s balance-sheets read in the past, but he had never heard of a more satis factory report. The prospects for the code in the future were, very bright and the sound state of the finances ■would give greater encouragement to everyone connected with the association. Other members added their tributes to the good work of the secretary and the treasurer. The following officers were electee for the year: I'atron, Mr W. G. Herd (re-elected); president, Mr j. J. Scott; vice-presidents, Messrs W. J. Rogers, E. Beckett, A. G. Bigneli, S. Cox, G. Darbyshire, A. Douglass, w Glover, A. J. Kingston, S. Miller, 1. E. Newton, H. Radcliffe, L. F. Row J. Wilson, A. Webster, J. Woodham, S. Tucker and Rochlort; secretary, Mr J. H. Thomson (re-elected); treasurer, Mr A. Robinson (re-elect-ed); auditor, Mr G. Darbyshire ireelected) ; sole selector, Mr C. L. Rlcnards; delegate to the council of tne New Zealand Football Association, Mr J. A. Miiborn; delegate to the annual meeting of the association, Mr J. Woodham; management committee, Messrs H. Beaumont, J. Jackson, A. J. Kingston, S. M, Lympus, F. Mackie, H. Ward, J. Johnston, J. Woodnam and C. L. Richards. On the motion of Mr F, Mackie it was decided to recommend to tne new management committee that a subcommittee should be set up to consider the question of revising the association’s rules. Considerable discussion was devoted to the question of securing grounds for the coming season, especially m regard to Cook’s Gardens. Messrs C L. Richards and F. Mackie ana the secretary and the treasurer were appointed as a deputation to wait on the City Council in this respect, and were given full power to act. It was aecided that the Headmasters’ Association should be Invited to send a representative to the management committee of the Football Association
