CASTLECLIFF CLUB OPENING OF SEASON MIXED FOURSOMES PLAYED The Castlecliff Golf Club opened their 1937 season on Saturday with a mixed foursome and medal round for those without lady partners. The winners of the mixed foursome were H. Hartnell and Miss I. Wood, with a nett 74. The medal was won by F. J. Currie with a net 75. The best cards handed in were:— H. Hartnell and Miss I. Wood, 99-26-74. J. Murray and Mrs A. Bogle, 111-36-75. K. McFarlane and Mrs Power, 89-13-76. J. Wilson and Miss Atkins, 94-16-78. N. W. Dickson and Mrs Davis, i 94-15-79. R. T. Greenhill and Mrs Bonner, 103-24-79. Medal Round. F. J. Currie 57—12—75 E. Moss 88—12—76 L. King 91—12—79 I. Dickson 90 9—31 E. Christie 100—18—82 Members and visitors were entertained at afternoon tea by the ladies’ club. After tea Mr Dawson, in a few well-chosen words, thanked the visitors for attending and declared the clubhouse and links open for the 1937 season. Mr R. D. Smart, vice-president of the Seafield Club, replied on behalf of the visiting players, congratulating Castlecliff on their improvements, and hoped that the new season would find the friendly spirit existing between the local club continue in the best interests of golf.
