PERSONAL The death has occurred of Mr M. jalvin, a well-known resident of Taihape. Mr J. M. Scott has been appointed temporary secretary of the Taihape R.S.A. until the end of March. Mr D. J. Ward, of Te Kuiti, has succeeded Mr A. G. Smart on the loca staff of the Bank of Australasia. MrSmart left on Saturday under transfer 1o Havvera. REST ROOM A meeting of the executive committee was held recently, when there vere present Messrs L. de Lautour (chair), Mesdames W. J. Williams, G. N. Mac Diarmid, L. de Lautour, L. A. Hebberd. and the secretary (Mr J. D. 3. Davis). Accounts in connection with the recent Queen Carnival were passed for payment. It was resolved to hold a gala day on March 4. The secretary reported that there ;vas £1163 in hand for the erection of •i new rest room, including a grant of £4OO from the Borough Council.
