SEQUEL TO STRIKE
PROCEEDINGS AGAINST MEN MINISTER’S INSTRUCTIONS } [ Per Press Association. | AUCKLAND, Nov. 25. By instructions from the Minister of Labour, proceedings are to be taken against 40 men who were employed on the Birkenhead sewerage • reticulation contract who are concerned in a dispute with the contractors, on the grounds that they took part in an illegal strike. The Labour Department has also been instructed to proceed personally against T. Stanley, secretary of the Auckland General Labourers’ Union, for allegedly inciting the strike. The men engaged in the dispute are ( members of the Auckland General 1 Labourers’ Union and were working ( under the award. They demanded ( higher wages.
